History of ladies shoes

by admin on July 20, 2010

It’s a interesting journey to understand how a part of a woman’s everyday fashion, her shoes, affects society and culture. The history of women’s shoes started from the Patten. It was made from fabrics like silk and sewed leather but was not water resistant. It led on to the invention of the chopine. Chopines were higher ; it was made that way to designate the social standing of the woman who wore it, the bigger the chopine, the better the status of the wearer. The Catholic Church approved of the chopines, with the idea that this impeded dancing, which reduced the opportunity of a woman to sin. In Venice it was reported that a couple of ladies suffered from miscarriage after falling while wearing them. Ladies would go the additional mile for the sake of fashion.

The shoes a lady is wearing enhance her image and enhance her confidence. The variety of women’s shoes includes dressy, platforms, gladiators, flats and wedges.

In the 1940′s war appeared, but regardless of that ladies still needed to look stylish. Women selected between, the straightforward, practical low heeled shoe for active duty and the high heeled which was used for daily tasks. The ankle boots, Ballet flats, Knee Boots, Pumps, Sandal, Thigh boots, Thong, T- strap, Block heel, Flats, Pointed Toe, Rounded Toe, Stilletto heels and wedges are a selection of the shoe varieties sold all around the planet to pander to women’s desires. Magnificent craftsmanship was needed to come out with these designs. Today brands like Converse, Asics, DC shoes, K-swiss, Mizuno, Marc Ecko, Mephisto and Ugg boots are a selection of the brands that come out with new designs each season. The more work a woman is entitled to do the more complex her shoes become.

Running shoes had four main varieties from the classic running shoes, trail trainers and the casual comfort series. Women’s trainers are absolutely different from those of men’s shoes. They differ in style and shape. They’re built for function with traits like stability, performance and motion control.

Women’s boots have also changed throughtout the centuries. Todays’ boots now have an anti-bacterial lining, they also have dressy lace up design and boots that are specifically made for hunting. For women that like to be casual yet still classy, sandals are a great choice. There are a lot of varieties which include Chinese laundry sandals which are good looking. While Teva Sandals are used for hiking. There isn’t any end for the kind of women’s shoes. It may continue to innovate so long as designers and girls team up to gain results that would satisfy a woman’s fantasy when it comes to arriving at that perfect look that only a sweet shoe can offer.

One of my favourite brands right now is designer fashion. A great example of an ethical brand.
People caring for people. Folk caring for the environment. And folk looking good. When did fashion become this exciting! Ethical is indeed fashionable.
So go have a look at designer fashion and do your bit for ethical fashion.
